With the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M you get a 42 mm case size with elegant lyre lugs swooping down to a beautifully designed 5 link tank tread style of bracelet. The case size is around 13.5 mm, depending on which model you get, and you have over ten dials to choose from. The ceramic dial and bezel make this watch really pop when you wear it and the Ar coasted sapphire crystal allows you to appreciate it in all light settings. The iconic wave pattern dial paired with a scalloped bezel gives the watch a very elegant and overall refined look. Forget that it was worn by an impeccably dressed British spy who goes by the name of James Bond, that watch has so many interesting details throughout that makes it quite a dressy watch, especially for a diver!
Now if we look at the Seamaster Planet Ocean you’ve got either a 39.5 mm or 43 mm case size to choose from (we aren’t including the chronographs here). The case is more of a robust looking system with less curves than the Diver 300 M making it appear perhaps more sporty or even discreet. With a case thickness at 16 mm and a ceramic bezel the watch isn’t too discreet either and has a large amount of wrist presence. The bolder hour markers against their classic gloss dial gives the whole feel of the watch a more aggressive tool watch look compared to the Diver 300M. Both can be worn in casual settings no problem, jeans or shorts paired with a t-shirt or polo top is a perfect match for them. However, for those wanting to wear the watch in a more dressy scenario with a shirt, thanks to the slimmer case profile of the Diver 300M it would be able to do so easier than the Seamaster Planet Ocean.
